Tulsi Gabbard

Tulsi Gabbard is a politician from Hawaii. She has also served as a United States Army Reserve officer and is a political commentator. She is the first Samoan-American and Hindu member of Congress. In 2015, Gabbard was elected to serve in the United States House of Representatives.

Gabbard recently started a podcast series on YouTube. It’s called The Tulsi Gabbard Show. Her first episode is called “Why I’m Leaving the Democratic Party.” She explained how she got involved in the Democratic Party as a young woman, and cited examples of Democrats who spoke out against the Vietnam War as her motivation for entering the party.

Gabbard also has a long history of working in the media. In addition to serving on the Honolulu City Council, she has founded Kanu Productions and served as vice chair of the Democratic National Committee. In 2004, she was arrested in Tijuana, Mexico, along with fellow Democratic National Committee member Aniruddha Sherbow. She was later sentenced to 33 months in prison.

Tulsi has also served two tours of duty in Iraq. In 2005, she was deployed to Logistical Support Area Anaconda in Iraq. She was assigned to the 29th Support Battalion’s medical company. During her time in Iraq, she received the Meritorious Service Medal.

Gabbard was elected to the Hawaii state legislature in 2002 at the age of 21. She was the youngest woman elected to the state legislature at the time. Before she was elected to Congress, she served in the Hawaii Army National Guard. She completed basic training between legislative sessions. Between the two legislative sessions, her unit deployed to Iraq. She later served as a legislative aide to Sen. Daniel Akaka of Hawaii. After leaving the army, she endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders for president.

Gabbard has long been in disagreement with the Democratic leadership. She announced her candidacy for president in 2020, but was recently criticized for endorsing Joe Biden. Gabbard will also campaign for a Trump-endorsed candidate in Arizona. This candidate has repeatedly refused to accept election results. She said in January that she wants to make life better for people.
