Who Was Eliminated From DWTS in Week 9?

Disney+ recently welcomed Dancing With the Stars into its 31st season with an expanded cast of celebrities and their professional dance partners competing to win this year’s Mirrorball Trophy. Already there have been jaw-dropping performances (and tears!) but who was eliminated in week 9 of DWTS?

This episode marked the commencement of a double elimination, as couples were sent packing both on scores and viewer votes. Numerous couples found themselves in the bottom two including Jessie James Decker and Alan Bersten and Cheryl Ladd and Louis Van Amstel; ultimately it was those with two of the lowest combined scores who left and we ended up with only six couples remaining in our final six couple competition.

Real Housewives star Teresa Giudice and partner Pasha Kovalev found themselves in the bottom three after performing a jive to “All Shook Up,” receiving favorable ratings from judges but receiving votes to have them eliminated by viewers. Luckily, head judge Len Goodman cast a saving vote to save them.

Gabby Windey and Wayne Brady found themselves in the bottom two after their cha-cha to “What’s Love Got To Do With It”. While their performance was admirable, it wasn’t enough to beat Ladd and Van Amstel who earned 36 points for their rumba to “In A Mood Like This,” from the movie of the same title.

Jessie and Bersten and Heidi D’Amelio and Artem Chigvintsev had the lowest combined scores, so both pairs were sent home. While judges praised Jessie’s foxtrot to “Fever,” noting her steady improvement week after week, this wasn’t enough to save her.

D’Amelio and Chigvintsev impressed the judges with their tango to “Girls Just Want To Have Fun.” Derek Hough gave them high marks; Bruno Tonioli described their dancer as mesmerizing while Carrie Ann Inaba noted how their body language made their performance truly unforgettable.

Both teams remain in contention; however, their chances of making it all the way appear remote. Still, we’ve enjoyed watching both sides play hard all season and can’t wait to find out who emerges victorious! Who do you think will make the final four? Share your predictions in the comments!
