Career

Throughout her musical career, Kimberley Locke has received many accolades. She has been nominated for the Teen Choice Award for Favorite Love Song and Female Adult Contemporary Artist of the Year. She also received a Red Ribbon Award for her advocacy work on HIV/AIDS. In 2011, Locke formed her own entertainment company, I AM Entertainment.

First, she started a healthy eating and exercise routine. She would work out six days a week. She also learned to be more mindful of what she was eating. She would eat items like fresh salads, nuts, fresh fruit and even chicken fettuccine. In addition, she had a diet program she was willing to follow. Eventually, she found the weight to be manageable and even went back to school to pursue her dreams.

Interestingly, Locke opted to sign with Curb Records instead. However, she later parted ways with the label.

Philanthropic activities

During a recent interview with Clayton Perry, singer Kimberley Locke discussed her involvement with HIV/AIDS related charities. She also reacted to Freda Payne’s response to her cover of “Band of Gold”.

Locke started singing in her church choir at the age of five. In high school, she joined a quartet called Shadz of U. Their first song topped the Billboard’s Hot Dance Club chart. They performed at local churches throughout high school. As a young adult, she signed a contract with Randy Jackson’s Dream Merchant 21 label.

She recently signed a two-year contract with Lane Bryant, which includes being the spokesperson for the Seven7 Jeans Designer Collection campaign. She has also hosted red carpet events for E. and Extra. She has a passion for food.

Locke has been a major supporter of several HIV/AIDS related charities.
