Is Brian Laundrie Related to Troy Laundrie?

Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie first connected as teenagers on Long Island, New York, through their shared interest in social media. As they gained a worldwide online following through an inspiring “van life” road trip that featured happy moments from a converted Ford Transit van, their relationship took an unfortunate turn when they disappeared during an adventure in August 2021, leaving behind a tragic tale that gripped America.

On September 11th, Laundrie’s husband reported them missing, sparking an extensive search that focused on the wilderness park near her home in North Port, Florida – known as The Carlton Reserve. This densely wooded swamp area is renowned for its alligators, coyotes and snakes.

After months of searching across America, two bodies have been discovered. It appears a Florida judge may be about to make a decision which will finally bring closure to Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie’s families.

Brian Laundrie is a convicted felon and the sole person of interest in the disappearance of his girlfriend Gabby Petito. He’s accused of killing her last year during an epic cross-country journey between Wyoming and California that was documented on Instagram videos.

He had previously been arrested in Utah for using an unauthorized access device to gain access to two bank accounts. According to reports, the FBI is seeking an arrest warrant and could face jail time in Florida, where his parents reside.

According to the FBI and an attorney for Laundrie’s parents, human remains and a backpack and notebook discovered Wednesday in a Florida nature preserve belonged to Laundrie – who had been an individual of interest in the death of his girlfriend. He had been found at a location that had been underwater during previous searches, according to both the agency and attorney for his parents.

Bertolino expressed his hope that the findings may allow the families of Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie to move forward from their grief, though he noted that no definitive resolution will be reached.

Meanwhile, Brian’s parents are fighting back in a lawsuit filed by Petito’s parents and others, contending they did nothing wrong during the extensive search of the couple late last year. They’re claiming emotional distress for their actions.

According to CNN, it remains uncertain if a jury will hear the case against Laundries Inc. regarding their potential lawsuit; however, a judge will assess if there was malice involved in withholding information regarding their search and investigation into their son’s death.

At trial, a judge will decide whether to dismiss Laundrie’s parents’ civil suit. Attorneys for Gabby Petito and her parents allege they have concealed information and acted with malice.

The lawsuit also asserts that Laundrie’s parents were aware of his whereabouts but failed to inform police until one month after she went missing.
