Accidents Occurred on Baseline Road Today

When an accident occurs on Baseline Road today, it can be devastating for those involved. One man was killed and one was seriously injured. Whether it is a fatal accident or a minor crash, it’s important to remember that people need to take precautions. A driver should be aware of the road’s surroundings, speed limits, and the pedestrian crossing signs. Last month, a white cargo van collided head-on with a dump truck on Baseline Rd. This accident left the truck driver dead and the passenger in the car with serious injuries. It’s unknown if the driver was impaired at the time.

Another fatal accident occurred earlier this year on Loop 303 in Miami. The pickup truck crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic. As a result, the driver lost control and hit several cash registers. Several passengers complained of pain. Some were rushed to local hospitals for treatment. However, no one was killed in the collision.

In other crashes, a pickup truck struck a motorhome and the driver fled the scene. Another truck hit a pedestrian and an SUV hit a vehicle that was blocking a crosswalk. An adult female driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A vehicle carrying three juveniles slammed into a traffic pole at 15th Avenue and Bethany Home Road at 1:30 a.m. and was also ejected.

Pedestrians need protected crossing opportunities at Baseline Rd. Currently, there are 19 pedestrians who cross the road during the busiest times of the day. That number could increase, so there should be additional signage and pedestrian crossovers. If it’s done correctly, it will enhance the safety of those who use the road.

Yesterday evening, two vehicles struck each other on Baseline Road. One of the vehicles was an older model Toyota Camry. While the other vehicle was a Toyota Tundra. There were no signs of impairment at the time of the crash. Although the speed wasn’t the deciding factor, the distance between the lanes was short. Adding a few more feet to the width of the road might be a quick fix.

Two other crashes involving cars and pedestrians occurred on the same day. During one, a pedestrian was hit and died while trying to cross the street. Thankfully, no other injuries were reported. At the other, a person was jogging with a friend when he was hit by a vehicle.

One car and two pedestrians are now deceased in the latest crash on Baseline Rd. One vehicle is still on the scene and it is unclear what caused the crash. However, the speed limit on Baseline Rd is 45 mph. Those who drive the speed limit can expect to face some penalties. Hopefully, they won’t need to file a police report.
