Who Is Playing Phyllis on General Hospital? Michelle Stafford first made her appearance as Phyllis Summers on The Young and the Restless in 1994 and won two Daytime Emmy Awards for her performance as she has continued in this role ever since, receiving many other accolades and awards throughout her tenure with the show.

Phyllis Newman (Kelly Monaco) is one of the show’s most beloved characters, and fans are always anticipating what she will do next. From helping Nikki Newman (Kelly Monaco) take control of Newman Enterprises to running her own bar in Genoa City, she remains an influential force to be reckoned with.

Once Phyllis divorced Jack (Kevin Shephard), she involved herself with rock star Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian). After being conned into believing he had fathered her child, she falsely accused Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). To get revenge against Diane Jenkins she faked her own death before marrying Lenny Caulfield who helped run Tan-O bar together until Lenny died and fell into a coma; eventually when she recovered she discovered who helped her was named Mike.

Later on, she fell prey to conman Jeremy Stark (James Hyde). Together they blackmailed Brad Carlton over his affair with Sharon Newman and also assisted Stark in sabotaging a meeting between Newman and Chancellor Industries’ board, leading directly to Newman’s downfall. By 2021, she reappeared at Nixon Falls clinic where she worked as nurse; there, she met Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Barnard), suffering from amnesia; she noticed his watch was inscribed with his initials as Mike; thinking this must be his real identity.

Since her introduction on the soap opera, Phyllis has had several relationships. These included her marriage to Jack and an off-and-on romance with Steve Burton (Johnson). Additionally, Phyllis served as an adviser and sounding board for both Sonny and Nina. It is speculated that Phyllis may soon begin dating Marcus Morgan (Robert Gossett).

Though it is too soon to tell, Phyllis could have more in store for her than just romance. Spoilers reveal that she will play an active part in investigating Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen). Phyllis will likely encourage Nina to have her DNA tested as possible donor so as to prove Nina is indeed Willow’s birth mother, clearing up any misperceptions about Willow’s origins or possibly leading to their reunion – stay tuned to find out!
