Mark Jensen Murdered His Wife While She Was Sleeping on Dateline NBC

After his daughter, Jacksonville businesswoman Johanna Hove-Becker’s, murder, her father said he was afraid to turn on either radio or TV in fear of hearing any news report about it. On Sunday however, 68 year old Bill appeared in a two-hour Dateline NBC report covering it all.

True Crime series investigates a murder found unwitnessed, found shot in her bed with no signs of forced entry. Additionally, episode follows Mark Jensen from Wisconsin who was charged and eventually found guilty for killing Julie while she slept.

Dateline NBC is an American weekly newsmagazine program broadcast by the NBC Network in the United States, originally as a general interest news magazine but now almost solely covering crimes and legal issues. Airing weekly at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Special two-hour editions take place at 9:00 pm the same evening and can occasionally be preempted by breaking news stories. One-hour specials of Dateline air on other nights, while repackaged hour-long episodes air regularly on cable and satellite networks owned by NBC parent company NBCUniversal such as Investigation Discovery, E!, USA Network and TLC. OWN uses Dateline as the basis of its true-crime series while Peacock features repackaged episodes too.

Repackaged episodes of Dateline on Citytv can also be seen across Canada; each local Canadian station name uses “Dateline on…” as their branding. Prior to fall 2022, new episodes did not air nationwide in Canada; some NBC affiliates in U.S. border cities broadcast Dateline locally with domestic advertising. Furthermore, these repackaged episodes are distributed through American syndication company NBC Universal Global Distribution while international broadcasters such as BBC frequently broadcast repackaged episodes instead of regular programming on their networks.
