Sturgeon Bay Trick Or Treat 2021

Sturgeon Bay Trick Or Treat 2021

If you’re in search of a big Halloween celebration this weekend, Sturgeon Bay’s Thrills and Chills or Fish Creek’s Jack-o-Lantern Days could be just what’s needed to set off a frightfully festive Halloween season that lasts until Halloween night, Oct 31.

Door County is known for its natural beauty and laid-back atmosphere, yet visitors will also discover a wealth of fun family activities here. Dubbed “Cape Cod of the Midwest,” this peninsula features Lake Michigan beaches, historic lighthouses, charming villages hugging the shoreline, forests where hikers can observe fall colors in all their glory, as well as forests where visitors can witness abundant wildlife and landscape.

Door County Historical Society provides an ideal environment for families to celebrate Halloween, with plenty of family-oriented activities planned from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct 28. Their “Historic Spooks and Sprites” event offers families an educational journey through Halloween’s history and traditions – such as Victorian-style optical illusion making lessons – as well as learning about carving turnips to scare away evil spirits in Ireland and Celtic regions as an ancient practice that still keeps spirits at bay today.

Additionally, the Historical Society offers tours of its facility as well as photo opp dock where visitors can leave their mark with paint or sharpie pens. Furthermore, there is also a small gift shop that features local cheese producers’ cheese, fudge and goat milk gelato offerings.

Coast Guard members will be able to get into the Halloween spirit on board their ship for once this year! Instead of canceling due to pandemic concerns last year, USCGC Mobile Bay will serve as a haunted house this evening, offering trick-or-treating from 4-7 p.m.

Sturgeon Bay is upping their game this year by hosting events throughout the week leading up to their annual Thrills and Chills celebration on Oct 30. Beginning with a children’s costume parade at 10 am from the clock tower down 3rd Avenue to Martin Park, followed by East and West Waterfront businesses displaying window decals for this year’s Thrills & Chills until 1 p.m. On that day.

Appleton will offer trick-or-treating from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for Halloween trick-or-treating.
