Strongheart Manor in North Haven is For Sale

In 2016, former “Today” show host Matt Lauer and model Annette Roque paid $36.5 million for Strongheart Manor, a gated compound in North Haven. The 6.3-acre property includes the main residence as well as two guest houses that overlook Peconic Bay and Mashomack Preserve. It’s an idyllic traditional-style retreat just five minutes away from Sag Harbor on Actors Colony Road within the village.

Richard Gere once owned this 14,000 square foot mansion, now listed with Susan Breitenbach of Corcoran Group for $44.8 million. That’s a substantial reduction from Gere’s original asking price of $65 million back in 2013.

Lauer and Roque purchased Strongheart Manor in 2016 following their divorce. Matt Lauer was fired from NBC in November 2017 due to sexual harassment allegations.

Now that the divorce is final, Matt and Roque are looking to sell the renowned North Haven estate. According to one top broker, drones have been flying over the property from above, taking photos as well.

This 6.3-acre compound, gated and guarded, includes the main residence built in 1902 and two guest houses that have been renovated to include 12 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. Additionally, there is a waterfront pond, outdoor fireplace pavilion, tea house and dock for your enjoyment.

Strongheart Manor is an exquisite waterfront estate located in North Haven with 300 feet of direct Peconic Bay frontage and a 240-foot deep water dock, as per the listing. Situated on 6.3 acres with mature gardens, Strongheart Manor boasts 12 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms spread across 14,000 square feet of living space.

Built in 1902, this estate has been meticulously renovated with modern technology and an emphasis on energy efficiency. It truly stands as a unique and captivating estate unlike any other in the Hamptons.

On a 6.3-acre peninsula in North Haven, this home provides 300 feet of waterfront with its own 240-foot deep-water dock and heated in-ground pool. It’s an idyllic retreat with views of Mashomack Preserve from its sandy beach.

It’s also close to Bright Side Farm, a 47-1/2 acre horse farm in Water Mill that the couple purchased for $3.5 million in 2012. Furthermore, it’s only minutes away from the annual Hampton Classic Horse Show – attended by celebrities like Brooke Shields and Mary Kate Olsen – which draws thousands each year.

In addition to his property in the Hamptons, Lauer has purchased several other properties in New York. He and Roque own a 40-acre horse farm in Water Mill that they acquired in 2012. Furthermore, during summers the former Today show anchor makes multiple trips to his beloved Hamptons retreat.

Acquiring Strongheart Manor was an impressive step for the former “Today” show anchor. He and Roque had always had a fondness for the area, but that affection has only grown stronger since their split in 2017.

As part of their divorce settlement, Lauer and Roque plan to sell Strongheart Manor, located approximately 7 miles from their former residence, according to People magazine. They’ll keep Bright Side Farm which they purchased in 2012 for $3.5 million.
