Rafael Caro Quintero, a Mexican drug lord, is a convicted murderer. Ernesto Fonseca Carrillo and Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo, two other drug smugglers, co-founded Guadalajara Cartel. Quintero’s cousin Victor Villapudua was used by the cartel to smuggle drugs across Mexico. In addition, Quintero played a large role in the kidnapping and murder of DEA agent Enrique Camarena.

Rafael was living a posh lifestyle with his drug cartel and rich family. He had a luxurious apartment and was surrounded by subordinates riding dirt bikes around the property. One night, he met a woman named Sofia Conesa and asked her to dance. However, she declined. In a bid to get close to her, Rafael asked Caro Quintero to a wedding party. Caro Quintero wore a Tony Montana costume from “Scarface” to the wedding. Rafael invited Sofia to his brother’s wedding in an effort to win her affections.

When the marines arrived, Caro Quintero hid in the scrub. Max, a 6-year-old bloodhound named Max managed to find him. Now, the former drug dealer faces extradition to the United States. The extradition process will take weeks or even months. The U.S Embassy in Mexico City was making a celebratory champagne toast to the extradition process and allocating $20 million to him.

Rafael Caro Quintero’s girlfriend was Sofia Conesa. She was the daughter Cesar Conesa’s, a member the PRI political party. She had studied at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara. They met through a music program, and then they were married.

In the United States, Caro Quintero had served his time in prison for killing Camarena, but he was released from prison in December 2013 after a Mexican appeals court overturned his conviction. However, he went missing within days of his release. The RCQ Task Force was soon formed to locate him. He was back in the game after being absent for almost 28 years.

The episode shows the Mexican narcotics trade. Caro Quintero was a long-time target of U.S. law enforcement. A search team led by Max managed to locate him in the town of San Simon, in the state of Sinaloa. Later, it was discovered that he was involved with a crash that resulted in the deaths of 14 members from the Mexican navy.

Quintero returned to drug-trafficking in 2017 and kidnapped, tortured, and killed American law enforcement officers. US authorities offered a $20 million reward for the arrest of Caro Quintero. He has been quoted as saying that the US government’s efforts to arrest him were “misplaced vengeance” and a convenient way to rewrite history.

Since the kidnapping and killing of Special Agent Enrique Camarena, Caro Quintero has been a target of the DEA. The murder of Camarena was covered by the media, which forced the U.S. to shut down the border for several days. The incident marked a low point in U.S.-Mexico relations and inspired Netflix’s hit show “Narcos”.
