The happy pill may be a mythical creature in some circles, but a lot of people do get them. Happy Pills, which is a book authored by Arnaud Robert and Paolo Woods, examines the world of drugs in all their complexity. Some of the most esoteric medications are dispensed at the most mundane of locations. For instance, one could say that an African American woman selling over-the-counter cold and flu medication is not exactly a sexy specimen. But, despite her gender, she has the best of luck in delivering some of the most elusive medications. In the end, she and her patients are happy.

It’s not often that a book about the world of drugs is this enlightening. Although it is a work of fiction, the authors manage to bring out the real movers and shakers of the industry. Their findings are published in the form of a 264 page compendium. That isn’t all, though. They also put together an impressive exhibition, which is currently on display at La Ferme des Tilleuls in Renens, Switzerland. The exhibition runs until January 16, 2022.
