A pedestrian was killed today near a busy Phoenix intersection after he was hit by a car. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene. The Phoenix Police Department is looking for information to help them determine what caused the accident. The victim was identified as Cedric Martinez. The two vehicles may have failed to yield to one another at the intersection of 35th Avenue and Union Hills Drive. The motorcycle rider sustained major injuries and was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the truck struck Romanoski on the road near Interstate 17. Both drivers were reportedly drinking. The accident took place at 1:30 a.m. and was a head-on collision between the two vehicles. Pedestrians were not wearing helmets or other protective gear.

Jesse Morales

A pedestrian hit by a car in Phoenix today has tragically lost his life. The victim was identified as 37-year-old Jesse Morales. He was a passenger in a Chrysler van when he was hit by a Dodge Ram that was exiting the freeway. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but eventually succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Dodge Ram was not injured in the crash, but the driver of the Chrysler van was. The driver of the van suffered minor injuries, and the adult male driver was taken to the hospital.

After the investigation, investigators identified MORALES as a source of methamphetamine. The multi-state organization was headed by James Martin Snyder, a former prison inmate from northeast Ohio. He began importing multi-pounds of the drug from Phoenix in early 2003. The case has since led to the conviction of Snyder and seven other individuals. Several of the defendants’ properties have been seized.
