Jordan Davis – A Freshman Defensive Tackle at the University of Georgia
At the age of 20, Jordan Davis had plenty to accomplish before he could play football for Georgia. As the son of a single mother who struggled financially, her efforts tried to help their son attend college; however, it wasn’t until Davis started playing football that they were able to make enough money for tuition at the University of Georgia.
At Georgia, Davis developed into one of the program’s most dominant defensive tackles, earning himself both Chuck Bednarik Award and Outland Trophy honors during his senior season. Additionally, he was named to the All-SEC team and named a first-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America.
He’s currently trending on the internet and making headlines after scoring a rushing touchdown against Charleston Southern during Senior Day. Many predict he will win the Heisman Trophy.
Davis is not only an excellent athlete, but he’s also a gifted singer-songwriter. Recently he released the love ballad “What My World Spins Around,” featuring lyrics written by Davis himself.
Ryan Hurd, Matt Dragstrem and Jordan Davis composed the song with inspiration from his wife Kristen.
Davis wrote the love ballad for his wife out of pure emotion and devotion. They’ve been through so much together, making the song especially meaningful to him.
Growing up, Davis enjoyed spending time with his grandmother. She lived in Dunn, North Carolina and was a kind soul. Davis had many fond memories of spending time with her and listening to stories about her life.
He still appreciates spending time with her, particularly because they share a passion for sports.
They also practice their faith together. Before each game, they offer thanks to God and cherish the rare moments they get to spend time together.
Jordan enjoys spending time with his family and friends when he’s not playing soccer. He also likes watching movies and listening to music.
His favorite movies include Lord of the Rings and Star Wars series. Additionally, he loves football and hopes to one day become an NFL player.
He is a tireless worker and always puts in extra effort. He takes great pride in his family and strives to help them out whenever he can.
Prior to his admissions decision at UGA, he had received offers from Clemson, Florida, Miami (Florida), and North Carolina. Out of all these possibilities, he chose Georgia over all others because he wanted to become part of the University of Georgia family.
Davis began playing basketball at Hopewell High School in Charlotte, North Carolina before transferring to Mallard Creek High School and joining their football team.
After graduating high school, he pledged his services to the Georgia Bulldogs. A gifted defensive lineman with an impressive body type, he is eager to play for his alma mater.
