Johnny Depp in York

Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp was welcomed with open arms by fans in York as he prepared to perform alongside guitar virtuoso Jeff Beck. The duo will perform tonight at the Barbican, one of many tour dates around the UK. Depp recently surprised audiences when he unexpectedly appeared on stage during Sheffield theatre performances; now touring with musician after winning multimillion-dollar defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard; they recently released joint album 18 and already performed several US shows together.

Depp and Heard have been met with overwhelming enthusiasm during their US tour so far despite Heard’s controversial past. She filed a defamation lawsuit against Depp after she claimed that he had insulted her during interviews following their separation, with an eventual jury finding Depp not guilty on one defamation claim but winning two others against him.

Fans have been eagerly waiting to catch this duo’s performances across the nation, including New York. On October 14 and 15, they’ll take the stage at Paramount Huntington.

Depp was seen visiting his ‘favourite bar’ before performing in York – Evil Eye in York is an intimate cocktail bar located behind a gin shop and was said to have been frequented by Depp during filming of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 2005 reboot nearby. Additionally, this venue boasts its relaxed atmosphere, chic decor and diverse clientele.

After arriving at the venue, 58-year-old actor was seen conversing with security guards and waving to fans outside. A clip was shared online showing this interaction; many say he spent considerable time talking to those gathered to meet him.

At his first appearance onstage, the audience was excited. Beck and he then performed several songs together – original compositions as well as covers by Killing Joke, Beach Boys, Marvin Gaye and others. Together they released Isolation which can be found on album 18.

After the show, fans flocked to the front of the stage for pictures and autographs with both actors; many sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to actor Ian Malcolm who turns 59 this Thursday. Following his return home he made his way back to Joelle Rich who acts as one of his defense attorneys against Heard before leaving together in their tour bus to return home.
