Jessica Starr Splash Pad in Novi

FOX 2’s Jessica Starr was an exceptional meteorologist who dedicated herself to making a difference in her community through meteorology. To honor her legacy, her family is creating a splash pad in Novi in her memory; families will enjoy spending time outdoors while making memories together at this place dedicated to Jess.

Construction on Novi’s inaugural splashpad will soon start and it should open its doors next summer. Bosco Fields on the southwest corner of 11 Mile and Beck will become home for Jessica’s Splash Pad – dedicated in memory of Fox 2 meteorologist Jessica Bockmann who passed away earlier this year.

Carol Starr shared her vision with the City of Novi. She lives here along with Dan Rose, Noah and Riley – which makes it only fitting that this should be where they honor her daughter.

Novi Parks Foundation and the family have joined forces to raise money for the initial construction of the splash pad, so this weekend they are hosting a fundraising event at Top Golf Auburn Hills that features food, raffles, and golf with all proceeds going directly towards this cause.

Fundraising goals of $400,000 will enable the family to build a 3,200-square-foot splash pad complete with rainbows and weather-themed fun for years to come, serving as a special tribute and reminder of Jessica.

Starr-Rose never sought the spotlight; her true calling and passion lay in helping others and being a positive influence in her community. That was what drove her. Her family is delighted to be part of this effort and believe the community will come together around this beautiful tribute to her memory, remembering her bright smile, love of outdoor activities and weather, as well as spreading joy through outdoor recreation – something they believe she would approve of! We know she will be smiling down upon this very special park that bears her name.
