Jason Aldean Wins a Belt Buckle at the CMT Music Awards

Jason Aldean, the reigning Academy of Country Music Artist of the Year and Country Music Tour-de-force, makes a stop at Van Andel Arena on Saturday. His songs have amassed more than 15 billion streams on iHeartRadio alone!

He has a deep-seated appreciation for his hometown roots, which is evident in his songwriting and delivery. That pride in Macon, Georgia — where he was born — helped propel him to the top of country charts.

Aldean is an avid bourbon enthusiast and founded his own label, Wolf Moon. He’s released ten albums – seven platinum albums – and had 27 number one singles to his credit. Additionally, he’s won two Grammy Awards and been nominated five times for this honor.

His wife Brittany Kerr has been raising his stepdaughters, Kendyl and Keeley, since they were 11 and 16. In April 2018, Brittany revealed to Country Living that life as a stepmom can be “not easy”, yet she loves it nonetheless.

Last night at the CMT Music Awards, there were plenty of artistic mash-ups; but none quite measured up to Jason Aldean’s tribute to George Jones. Hailing from Macon, Georgia, Aldean remembered playing Jones’ iconic “Dirt Road Anthem” at a concert and paid homage with an insightful rendition of this timeless classic.

On Monday night (April 11th), the CMT Awards were broadcast live from Nashville on CBS for the first time ever and saw Carrie Underwood, Cody Johnson and Jason Aldean take home two belt buckles each.
