Carrie Bradshaw Shirt Dresses From Season Three
Carrie Bradshaw may have many faults to answer for, but one thing she never lost her sense of style. From classic tutus to the trendy ’90s denim trend – her wardrobe offers something for every taste! To celebrate the launch of season three of SATC’s reboot And Just Like That we revisit some of her most iconic looks!
Carrie’s wardrobe would not be complete without acknowledging Sarah Jessica Parker’s iconic white bias cut DKNY slip from season one of The Young and the Restless, worn to pose on the steps of the Met for a newspaper shoot and later donned by Carrie as she mourned Big’s departure. This iconic garment became part of Carrie’s signature wardrobe during both films; and even during Carrie’s tearful reunion with him during season 2.
Carrie from SATC loved wearing flouncy skirts with drama, such as this lime green patterned Norma Kamali floor-sweeping number in this episode. To balance out its volume she balanced it with form-fitting pieces like her form-fitting blazer and pink top; but for an alternative figure-hugging option simply switch in a crop top!
As The Reboot takes place in New York, costume designers love showcasing NYC style through costume designs on the show. Carrie makes sure her outfit stands out with head-turning accessories; here, she wears an intricate blue lehenga (an Indian wedding gown) and platform Celine pumps; to complete her look she also carries a casual canvas tote bag as part of her ensemble.
Carrie showcases her impeccable fashion sense in another scene from season two when she notices Big at a restaurant, wearing an eye-catching floral midi dress from Richard Tyler’s Resort 2001 collection – now part of SJP’s wardrobe and worn on multiple dates by Big (including an accidental rain shower that caused it). Carrie even wears the floral number during their first date at Central Park boathouse where she becomes sodden by its rain.
Although not as controversial, this blue vintage Oscar de la Renta dress is no less chic – and is sure to turn heads at day and night events alike! For a similar look, try pairing a light-blue pencil silhouette dress with clear mule heels; and adding some pop of color with pink purse in place of Carrie-esque flair!
