Carly Smith Joins Storm Team 2 As a Weather Forecaster

As a sports enthusiast, Carly Smith is a natural fit for the Storm Team 2 crew. Currently working on winter weather forecasts for the Midwest, Smith has the unique perspective of a baseball fan, while maintaining the professionalism of a weather forecaster. She also enjoys playing basketball, reading, and playing the piano.

Born in Mansfield, Texas, Smith was raised near the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys stadiums. She is a proud Red Raider. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Media and Communications and an Atmospheric Science minor from Texas Tech University. As an active member of the Red Raider team, she participated in the Texas Tech Pom Squad. She also played basketball and was a member of the Texas Tech Wakeboard Team.
