Car POV Shipping

Car POV shipping allows for the shipment of privately owned vehicles. Depending on the type of vehicle, the shipment may be domestic or international. Automobiles, motorcycles, motor scooters, vans and pickups are examples of vehicles that qualify. Long-term leased vehicles may also qualify, but written authorization must be obtained from the leasing company. The shipper is responsible for complying with all leasing requirements.

A vehicle that is leased or owned by a service member may be shipped to the new duty station. However, this may require the payment of a customs duty in the host country. Before shipping the POV, service members should check with the local transportation office to learn about the host country’s requirements. Additionally, they must present legible proof of ownership in the service member’s name.
