Aaron Rodgers Post Game Today
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers Post Game Today
After their season-ending 20-16 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers took to the podium to give his team’s fans a perspective of what had transpired. He had plenty of things to say, such as that his play was his responsibility and he’s proud to be part of this organization.
When asked about his future, Rodgers had an unusual response. He said he wanted to keep the jersey he received after the game because it could be his last NFL jersey.
The veteran quarterback did this by keeping a jersey he’d worn during an NFL game against the Detroit Lions earlier this season, leading to speculation about his possible retirement after this season. That speculation led him to decline receiving it back, possibly signaling that he may be retiring after this one.
On The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers made it clear his decision will depend on whether the Packers have a future at quarterback and whether they wish to keep him. Furthermore, he indicated that if needed, he might consider playing for another team instead.
Last week, Rodgers acknowledged something different between himself and Packers coach Matt LaFleur; this made him more inclined to return.
Before his darkness retreat, he said he was “90% leaning towards retirement,” but the shift in his relationship with the Packers fundamentally altered that outlook.
Last week, as LaFleur explained on the show, he and LaFleur had a conversation that set an upbeat atmosphere – a stark contrast from their somber mood before the Cowboys game.
After the loss, there were other interesting events. Rodgers refused to give his game-worn jersey to best friend Randall Cobb and seemed to be struggling with emotions brewing in the locker room.
However, the biggest takeaway was his insensitive comment about his performance that angered fans. He said he wasn’t perfect and never gave up, which sent a message that fans found offensive.
That was an insensitive comment from a man who has been on the team for 15 years and is widely considered as its greatest player. It hurt fans’ feelings immensely, and something which the team may never forgive him for.
His departure is yet another sign that his time with the Packers is coming to an end. Although he hasn’t been traded to the Jets yet, it appears he will soon depart and this has sparked some social media reactions.
