WWE Has No Stars

WWE has no stars. That’s a problem. It hasn’t been this way since 2002 when the company hired CMPunk, who was in a lot trouble after rapping on a bus trip. It also fought Daniel Bryan’s rise tooth and nail, but finally caved after the main event was hijacked by fans. But it’s hard to believe that the company can’t find a star to help the business.

The company has spent the past decade trying to find a superstar that would appeal to a mass audience, but has failed. The company’s creative team keeps coming up with the same ideas and doesn’t know how to book a star for the long-term. Rather than focusing on a star, WWE has instead focused on homegrown talent that hasn’t done anything. Although this was a good approach in some ways, it wasn’t the best.

While a few mainstays have made it to the main event of the WrestleMania card, WWE’s stars aren’t as impressive. Sure, there’s Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre, but their talents haven’t helped the company as much as it needs to. And these superstars didn’t come out of nowhere, either. They were hired to help the company, but they were fired a few years ago. The revolving door of talent in the WWE means that it is in dire need of star power.

The current crop isn’t bringing in any new talent to the company. The company constantly refers to old stars and moments. This formula has not worked for many years. For example, John Cena was a big star once, but has now fallen from grace. That’s a big problem for the industry. It’s time to create a new formula.

The company’s inability create new megastars is what is causing the problems with the current crop. After Austin and Rock, there have been no new superstars to take the throne. Roman Reigns, on the other hand, has run through every other top face in the company. There is no other top-ranked star in the company. WWE doesn’t have any stars to face him.

As far as rising superstars go, there’s really no clear star in the WWE. While there are promising young talent, the company relies on part-time names to carry the product. Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman, and Becky Lynch are all part-time stars. They won’t be the breakout stars WWE has been waiting for. In the meantime, it needs a more diverse lineup and new superstars to bring in more fans.

WWE has yet to produce a star comparable to John Cena’s. The company has yet to produce a star despite the success of Orton, Cena, Reigns and Orton. Non-fans will find it embarrassing to learn that WWE doesn’t have any stars. With the lack of a star, WWE’s brand doesn’t have the credibility to attract new fans.
