Although several studies have examined the relationship between WG and STN-DBS operation, none of them have found a causal relationship. This is the first study to examine this relationship in patients suffering from dystonia. Further research is needed to identify the mechanisms behind the observed changes in WG after and before STN-DBS. However, the results of this study suggest that the changes in WG may be the result of the central regulation of energy metabolism, which occurs following STN-DBS.

Before and after GA, Western Galilee representatives from Indianapolis and San Antonio will visit the area to see firsthand what the region is like. Missions will also be organized after GA by Buffalo. The mission’s goal is to bring Jenan and Iyad to the Premier Summer Celebration in Buffalo where donors can learn more about new initiatives in this area. This event also provides donors with an opportunity to visit Western Galilee and support initiatives.
