Thomas Rhett and Ian Anderson Celebrate National Adoption Day
One thing is certain – Thomas Rhett is no farmer; he’s a musician, and knows his job involves entertaining his fans at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. To give his audience a taste of what makes his job enjoyable, Thomas has released videos featuring himself wearing various jerseys representing all stops along his Vacation Tour.
This singer has taken YouTube by storm with his latest video featuring him wearing a Dallas Cowboys jersey and showing off both his incredible voice and drumming talent. Fans have taken notice, with this video already garnering over one million views!
Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins are known for their commitment to family. Last year, the couple went beyond expectations by adopting Will Gray Akins from Uganda as part of National Adoption Day festivities on Nov 21. We’d like to highlight this story and pay our respects.
Thomas has always been open about his family life, yet was taken aback at how many people have reached out and shown their support for his and his partner’s decision to expand their family in such an unconventional manner. He feels immensely humbled.
Thomas has been nominated for multiple Country Now awards this year and will perform at New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash on Dec 31. He’s up for Best Male Vocal Performance for “Slow Down Summer,” as well as Album of the Year with Where We Started, his sixth studio release.
As well as her multi-platinum country superstar status, Martina McBride has also been nominated for Favorite Artist at this year’s Country Music Association Awards (CMAs), along with fellow performers Kane Brown, Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Wallen. Voting began Thursday (Dec 1) and continues through Dec 15th.
Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull still tours as the British progressive-rock band’s leader, often performing with a full orchestra and string quartet rather than the original members who founded it in 1968. His latest album “Jethro Tull: The String Quartets” explores ways of recreating classic tunes from their repertoire for use in a classical context.
Anderson has also been busy creating solo albums and releases since leaving Jethro Tull, including this year’s release of “Jethro Tull: The Complete Recordings,” featuring remastered versions of all original recordings as well as previously unreleased material. Meanwhile, touring continues, most recently including bassist David Goodier and keyboardist John O’Hara as members of his lineup; Jethro Tull name revived for some recent shows including an appearance this week at Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center in Canandaigua.
