Theo James Looks Like James Franco

Theo James has become known for his roles in Divergent and its sequels. Additionally, he’s made waves on film screens with Pineapple Express and Milk as well as television shows such as CBS cop drama Golden Boy and British series Bedlam. While his good looks may make an impressionful first impression, what many may not know about Theo is that he also excels as a voice actor; Hector, an evil forge master featured prominently in Castlevania was voiced perfectly by Theo.

In the YA film series, Theo James stars as Four – a Dauntless leader who mentors Tris (Shailene Woodley). Some fans may be skeptical of this casting decision but many others, like singer Adam Lambert who recently took to Instagram to praise the actor’s selection – believe he fits well into his character role.

He is at ease both in front of and behind the camera, making him an extremely versatile actor who can portray both soft and tough roles with equal ease. Since debuting on Judd Apatow’s Freaks and Geeks series in 2004, Theo has become one of Hollywood’s most in-demand actors, selecting projects which challenge him and then pushing himself hard enough to succeed at them.

Theo was born in Palo Alto, California to Betsy Lou (a children’s book author) and Douglas Franco (a Silicon Valley businessman). He has two older brothers: Tom and Dave. Initially majoring in English at UCLA but dropping out after one year to pursue acting full time; quickly landing several unremarkable television roles and forgettable teen fare before landing the cocky high school slacker role in Freaks and Geeks which would lead to greater fame and fortune for Theo.

After several years of steady work, he achieved stardom as Harry Osborn in the Spider-Man trilogy and earned critical acclaim for his portrayal. It led him to more leading man roles such as 127 Hours and Rise of the Planet of the Apes; additionally he appeared in biographical drama Man on a Ledge for which he received an Academy Award nomination as Aron Ralston (included below).

Most recently, Theo played a talk show host tasked with assassinating North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un in The Interview (pulled from release due to hacking threats from purported members of North Korean government). His next project will likely involve portraying iconic pop star George Michael who faced open homosexuality as well as substance abuse issues before his death on Christmas Day 2016. Theo could play him.
