The Lloyd And Dottie Huck Early Career Award
The Lloyd and Dottie Huck Early Career Award
The Penn State’s Lloyd and Dottie Huck Early-Career Award recognizes Penn State graduates with the greatest potential for success in science. Many Penn State programs have been generously supported by the Hucks, including the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and University Libraries, College of Arts and Architecture and Intercollegiate Athletics.
The Hucks were born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Nutley, N.J. After graduating from Penn State University, he served in the Army Air Corps as a B-29 bomber pilot and flight instructor. In 1946, he met his future wife, Dottie, at a college dance. The two married and spent 69 years together. They shared a passion for traveling, which included family vacations, in addition to their professional lives.
