Terra Cotta Pumpkin With Hat
Terra Cotta Pumpkin With Hat
If you’re looking for a unique and stylish way to decorate your home this fall, terra cotta pumpkins are the perfect addition! They’re incredibly easy to make, and they can be used for both fall and winter decorating.
A terra cotta pumpkin is a beautiful addition to your home decor and is a great conversation starter! These pumpkins are a fun craft project that you can do with your kids or on your own!
To create the terra cotta look on this pumpkin, we will use a couple of different techniques. One of these is to blot the paint, instead of brushing it on, which will help give you the natural, uneven texture that terra cotta has! The other technique is to mix the terra cotta paint with a bit of cream or off white color.
The first step is to apply the terra cotta paint to the surface of your pumpkin using a paintbrush. You’ll want to paint a couple of coats so it’s important that you are patient and allow the paint to dry in between each coat. Once you have a good layer of terra cotta paint, you can start to blot it with your paintbrush.
Once you have the terra cotta painted onto your pumpkin, add a few layers of cream or off white colored paint to the pumpkin and then blot it with the cream/off white color. This will give you the natural look of terra cotta and it will also keep the pumpkin from drying out as quickly as the paint alone would.
Another way to make your terra cotta pumpkin stand out is to add some lace! This is a great way to bring some extra texture to your pumpkin without adding any additional money!
You can find a lot of lace at craft stores or at yard sales, but it’s also easy to make your own. I used lace that I had in my stash but you can use whatever lace that you’d like!
Next, I used decoupage medium to decoupage the lace on top of my terra cotta pumpkin. Then I used hot glue to secure the lace in place on top of my pumpkin. This was the best way to do this because it sets much faster than Mod Podge and I was able to pull the lace snugly around my pumpkin!
When the lace is completely secure on my pumpkin, I used a small brush to add a little bit of plaster of paris to the top and bottom edges. This is a good way to cover the top and bottom edges of my pumpkin and it gives a more polished look to it.
You can find a lot of ways to make your own terra cotta pumpkins, but this is a great way to add some texture and depth. You can also add a hat to your terra cotta pumpkin for a more traditional look. Just make sure to use a thicker fabric than you would if you were using a piece of lace for this.
