Stabbing At The Still In Agawam

The Stabbing at the Still Bar and Grill in Agawam, Massachusetts on April 15

If you had not heard of Lisa Ziegert before she was stabbed to death in Agawam, Massachusetts on April 15, you are not alone. Her murder shocked many in the community and even caused students to learn that life was not always fair. In the wake of her death, hundreds of people paid their respects to her and she was remembered as a bubbly, outgoing young woman who treated children as people. A memorial was erected at Agawam Middle School in her honor.

The stabbing was part of a violent fight that occurred at a popular nightclub in Agawam, a town on the border with western Connecticut. A large man wearing dark clothes tried to break the fight up, but he stabbed three men and one woman. At the scene, the victim was found with a single stab wound in the neck. When police arrived, the three other victims had stab wounds that were non-life threatening. After the stabbing, the three people were taken to the hospital. One of the victims told police that he saw the man who had stabbed him at the Still bar, located across the street from the store. It was not clear how long the fight had gone on, but the victim said he had witnessed a lot of violence and he was frightened.

While the investigation continued, traces of blood were found on greeting cards outside the room. There was also a time-stamped receipt that was left at the scene. This information helped authorities establish a time frame.

Police had the suspect, Alex Arslanian, arrested for first-degree assault and attempted murder. He is scheduled to appear Wednesday in Hartford Superior Court. His bond was set at $1 million. Before being arrested, he had no criminal record, but his ex-wife said that he was involved in Lisa’s murder.

Agawam police were called to the scene of a violent fight that had broken out at the Still bar and grill. The crowd, a mix of young and old, was yelling and screaming. The store’s security staff was certified by the state and was on-site, but nothing was disturbed in the cash register. Although it was not determined why the person who made the purchase did not notice anything, the store clerk told investigators that Ziegert’s purse, which was left at the store, was left behind.

The Still bar and restaurant is closed after midnight and has a crowd-control certification by the state. The security team was on site when police and fire officials arrived at the scene. During the investigation, investigators found signs of a struggle in the back store room. They were able to identify the attacker and his accomplice.

Four days after the stabbing, a body was found. Despite the large size of the scene, the detectives were unable to locate the other two victims’ cars. However, a third woman’s car was described as a dark blue or red late model full-sized Bronco or Blazer.
