Obdulia Sanchez and Her Sister Autopsy

A California woman has been arrested after allegedly live-streaming her car crash on Instagram. The video shows Obdulia Sanchez’s car swerving onto the shoulder of a highway and overcorrecting, before it crashed into a barbed-wire fence. After the accident, Obdulia’s 14-year-old sister was ejected from her vehicle, and she died on the spot. According to authorities, Obdulia was drunk at the time of the accident.

It was an unlucky day for the Sanchez family. The crash killed their 14-year-old daughter, Jacqueline, and injured their five-year-old son, Eitan. Their family set up a GoFundMe page for funeral costs, but their goal is still $10,000. They have been overwhelmed by the support they have received.

Obdulia Sanchez was driving a 2003 Buick when she swerved into the right shoulder of the highway, crashing into the barbed-wire fence. She then overcorrected and rolled over into a field. In the video, she can be seen screaming at officers that her sister was dead. When law enforcement officials arrived on the scene, they detained the woman. Several people contacted police after viewing the graphic video, according to CHP Officer Chris Smith. At the time of the crash, Sanchez had been in child protective services for two years. Her passenger, a 14-year-old girl, was also hurt and suffered major injuries to her right leg.

Obdulia Sanchez pleaded no contest to gross vehicular manslaughter, DUI, and child endangerment charges. She was also sentenced to a year in prison on the gross vehicular manslaughter charge. But she pleaded not guilty to several other counts.

The accident happened just one week before the family was set to celebrate the upcoming quinceanera. The crash occurred in central California. The Sanchez family had planned to drive to Fresno for the celebration. But the crash took them 80 miles away from their home. Afterward, Obdulia was held in custody at the Merced County jail.

The Sanchez family is hoping for a better outcome for the case. One person who watched the video said she was surprised by the video, but believes it was a harrowing experience. As the video plays, a third girl waving at cars for help is filmed. However, she has been cut on both legs in the crash.

In addition to the death of her sister, Jacqueline, Obdulia was also injuring her 14-year-old passenger. The girl had a seat belt on and suffered cuts to both legs. Initially, police did not believe that the crash was fatal, but after an autopsy was performed on the girl, the driver’s insurance company changed their mind.

Obdulia’s family says they are still devastated by the tragedy. But they are hopeful that the car crash will be a wake-up call for other drivers.
