McCreesh McCreesh & Cannon
John McCreesh was an amazing father to his daughter Katie. He was kind and friendly with everyone he encountered, particularly Lake Harmony in Poconos where his family would frequently spend time. Additionally, John was an ardent Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan who will be deeply missed.
McCreesh McCreesh & Cannon was established in 1967 and offers services in Liquor Licensing and General Practice. Based out of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania and led by John J. McCreesh III of BV Distinguished fame.
Raymond McCreesh of Camlough in South Armagh initiated his hunger strike at just 24 years old in February 1977 at H-Blocks prison. Coming from a nationalist family and having already been charged with possession of an IRA Garand rifle and various membership charges shortly before turning 19, protest was nothing new for Raymond.
McCreesh’s dynamic account of The Creation will come as quite a shock to those used to experiencing his group in small-scale, beautifully detailed performances and recordings. Utilizing his choir, Chetham’s Chamber Choir, Gabrieli Players and a full orchestra – including Chetham’s Chamber Choir from Manchester University as an extra vocal chorus and Gabrieli flutes as celestial flutes – to increase numbers to 113 for this performance with full-scale orchestra accompaniment, he sets his pacing at higher levels while responding appropriately to each work’s mysteries and awe – taking slower-than-usual tempi for “Chaos” by timpani rolls from Chethams Chamber Choir as well as Paradise which were celestially invoked by Gabrieli flutes as celestial soundscapes.
