Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford looked stunning together at the Met Gala on Tuesday night. At first meeting again at a Mumford & Sons concert in February 2011 for a long-lost friendship, 26-year-old Jennifer and 35-year-old musician Ryan first rekindled their romantic ties after years. “They shared an affinity for music and the outdoors and quickly began spending time together in both London and Buckinghamshire,” according to Us Weekly at the time. Eventually, their love was reignited and they decided that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. They got engaged shortly after reigniting their romance and tied the knot on an English farm in Somerset on April 12, 2012 with nearly 100 guests including Sienna Miller, Jake Gyllenhaal and Colin Firth attending an intimate ceremony conducted by Marcus’ father who is a vicar. Today they share an English countryside home together while raising school-age daughter Evelyn Grace and son Wilfred together.

In March 2022, Mulligan appeared as a guest of Marcus during his tour for his debut solo album Self-Titled. Marcus related an amusing tale about making a bet with Mulligan that he would win an Oscar before she did, only for him to win! Marcus described himself as both stunned and delighted when it worked out!

Soon thereafter, they reunited at a concert to commemorate the release of Inside Llewyn Davis. This film included music from Mumford & Sons’ Babel record; both Hayley and Jonny added their vocal talents for this project. “You don’t really experience these types of moments as an actor so it feels very lucky that I get to experience it now,” Hayley explained in an interview with Variety at that time. “This job really is my dream job!”

The next year, Marcus won Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards and they celebrated together. Promising Young Woman actress was seen wiping her tears away while her hubby accepted his award, then joined Gillian Welch and Rhiannon Giddens on stage to perform Hedy West’s “500 Miles”.

At last, the couple took time out at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival to pose together in honor of The Current War’s premiere. Alongside director Paolo Sorrentino and producer Sam Mendes, they all smiled broadly as they walked the red carpet together.

Over the weekend, they were seen visiting small-town Utah for a countryside getaway, joined by fellow travellers like actors Margot Robbie and Emma Stone; all three enjoyed outdoor activities together.
