Leigh Taylor Young Sold Her Pacific Palisades Home for $3.35 Million

Leigh Taylor Young, 70 years old and an Emmy award winner for her supporting role on 1990s series ‘Picket Fences,’ recently sold her Pacific Palisades house for an astounding $3.35 million. Previously she appeared in Passions, Sunset Beach and Dallas TV series as a guest star. Taylor-Young was born and raised in Washington, DC before graduating from Northwestern University in Illinois with a focus on economics. After first making her mark as an actress in 1966 on Peyton Place, she moved into film roles such as I Love You Alice B. Toklas and The Horsemen. She later made a comeback in the early 1980s with roles such as that of murder witness in The Jagged Edge and guest-starring on series such as The Hamptons and Dallas (where she co-starred with co-stars Bibi Besch and John Anderson).

Taylor-Young made her film debut in 1973 sci-fi thriller Soylent Green as Shirl, the furniture girl who devoured the main character. Since then she has appeared in other sci-fi flicks such as The Gunmen (1971), Gang That Couldn’t Shoot Straight (1971) and Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1975).

She achieved recognition for her role as Mayor Rachel Harris on the 1993-1995 CBS series Picket Fences, for which she earned an Emmy award. Other television credits include guest spots on McCloud and Murder She Wrote as well as 7th Heaven recurring roles. Prior to UPN drama Passions (2004-207) her last television work was as Katherine Barrett Crane from 2004 through 2007.

Taylor-Young has had roles in a handful of feature films, such as 1980 comedy Looker with Barry Jenner and 1985 thriller Secret Admirer with Cliff DeYoung; also appearing as a starring role in 1987 feature The Adventurers with Robert Wagner. Taylor-Young also shares her younger sister Dey Young who appeared as an extra on DS9. Among her many honors are induction into the National Women’s Hall of Fame and being given the Golden Globe Special Achievement Award for Lifetime Achievement in Entertainment in 2011. Additionally she is working on screenplays with Lance while remaining actively humanitarian serving on their board for Volunteers of America as an active board member on both boards as an active humanitarian serving on their board as well.
