Jonah Hill Cardboard Cutout

Jonah Hill Cardboard Cutout

Jonah Hill has long been an icon in Hollywood since he first burst onto the scene as a child actor. Featuring in numerous comedy movies and winning multiple awards for his performances, Hill still suffers from feelings of angst and depression; therefore therapy may help.

Stutz is a new documentary directed by Jonah Hill and follows him during a session with Phil Stutz, his therapist. Debuted on Netflix November 14th, this intimate portrait features candid conversations between Hill and Stutz in unorthodox sessions that break away from conventional therapy-patient dynamics.

Hill opens up about his body image issues and their effect on his life in this film. He confides to Stutz that he is discontent with his weight and that it has stayed the same over time. Additionally, Hill discusses grieving the death of his brother.

He also discusses his struggles coping with Parkinson’s disease, which has had a major impact on him. He mentions his attempts at eating less and exercising more in an attempt to lose weight without success; in addition he mentions taking various medications to deal with his psychological difficulties.

The movie’s initial act feels very artificial and unreal, but around a third of the way through, he begins to open up more and demonstrate more depth. He discusses having had weight issues when younger, as well as striving to reach back towards that weight of when he was at his best.

Hard to believe he has been dealing with these issues for five years, yet we can see the positive changes taking place. Though still struggling, he remains determined to improve himself and his life – something which doesn’t change the fact that he is striving to do better.

He is also passionate about fashion, and his Instagram account (@JonahFits) documents this passion. Often posting photos of himself wearing favorite pieces such as tie-dye Grateful Dead T-shirts, gym shorts and Gosha Rubchinskiy x Adidas sneaks.

Hill is known to enjoy sports as much for his fashion sense as for his passion for it. A loyal supporter of the Los Angeles Dodgers, but also fond of other teams like Boston Celtics and Chicago Blackhawks.

Hill has long been involved with charity work and has given freely of his time and talent in support of those in need. Previously he served as Executive Director of the AIDS Foundation of Los Angeles and supported Make-A-Wish foundation.

He was also a member of Maroon 5, with Jordan Feldstein serving as manager. Additionally, his mother Sharon Lyn Chalkin and father Richard Feldstein both held key positions within their respective fields: costume designer/stylist Sharon Lyn Chalkin was costume designer/stylist while Richard Feldstein served as tour accountant for Guns N’ Roses tours.
