Harry Styles Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Harry Styles and the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Harry Styles has made waves in music and Hollywood – now, his success warrants consideration for an honorific star on Hollywood Boulevard’s Walk of Fame.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an historic landmark featuring over 2,700 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars embedded into 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street in Hollywood, California. The stars are permanent public monuments that honor actors, directors, producers, musicians, theatrical/musical groups and fictional characters. Most stars are placed near where their characters were first filmed; some may also be placed at other appropriate spots. Locations of stars were chosen with special care to emphasize symbolic or humorous meaning: Mike Myers is standing in front of an adult store; Roger Moore and Daniel Craig’s stars can be found outside a hotel that bears their names from James Bond film series; Ed O’Neill’s stands outside a shoe store to remember his role on Married… with Children.

One Direction’s lack of recognition on Hollywood Boulevard as one of the world’s biggest bands may come as a shock; although individual members have found great success as solo artists. Although this seems like an oversight.

Meryl Streep, one of the greatest actresses of all time, holds one of the most recognizable stars on the Walk. She has won multiple awards both on film and Broadway over her illustrious 40 year career; Streep was honored with a star placed outside Dolby Theatre on October 2000.

Outside of movie theaters, some stars can also be found around Hollywood at other locations. One such star honoring film director Mel Brooks can be found at the Dolby Theatre; there are also stars to honor television show creators Dawson’s Creek, Riverdale, and You.

At TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, California you’ll find another interesting place to find celebrity handprints – its forecourt is filled with signatures and handprints left behind from many well-known faces over time – from Meryl Streep, Jerry Lewis, Gene Kelly to Gene Kelly himself! Furthermore, its forecourt has hosted premieres of films with Oscar nominations like Citizen Kane, The Godfather or A Shot in the Dark that feature performances in its forecourt.
