The Georgia Supreme Court recently affirmed Keith A. Dozier’s murder conviction and reversed Dozier’s conviction for felony theft through taking. The trial court is trying to convict Dozier for misdemeanor theft through taking. Gail Spencer was employed by Calder Pinkston & Associates, a Macon-based law firm. She was allowed to wire transfer funds from the firm’s accounts. Tracy Jones devised a plan to hold Gail Spencer hostage by transferring funds to her own account.

After the murder, Dozier and Brett were caught. They were accomplices in the crime. They had stolen $1 million from Gail Spencer’s home and had her imprisoned. They had a plan to steal money from the company. Gail’s system access was used to transfer the money. Then, they left town. However, after doing so, the two accomplices returned to their previous jobs.

Dozier and Kelly both admitted to being involved with the murder plot but did not intervene. However, they did try to convince Michael Kelly to stop the murder. Each of the three women received life sentences. Dozier is currently serving a 20-year sentence in prison for his participation in the crime. The judge has also sentenced Dozier to life without parole plus twenty years. It’s unclear if Dozier will ever be able to be released from jail.
