Dylan Dreyer and the Kentucky Derby
Dylan Dreyer balances her job as a meteorologist with enjoying life to the fullest on Kentucky Derby weekend. She recently donned an elegant pink lace dress and matching hat while on the track.
She always looks stunning!
It’s impossible to miss NBC weather anchor Megan Matheson’s stylish looks during Derby week, as she typically dons one of her favorite spring dresses and pairs it with a matching hat. Over the years, we’ve seen her on the track in everything from a pink lace dress and floral maxi to a metallic green gown featuring vibrant flowers.
She’s an inspiring example of how you can look fabulous no matter the weather on Derby day!
As an NBC meteorologist, she’s had to cope with some of history’s most extreme weather events, such as Boston’s record-breaking snowfall in 2015 and North America’s polar vortex in 2014. Additionally, she worked in broadcast during Hurricane Harvey in 2017, so she knows how to manage a major event like the Kentucky Derby.
This year, she’s taking on additional responsibilities beyond her role as meteorologist on the Today Show and for NBC Sports. She’ll co-host a series of lifestyle segments alongside Denver Broncos linebacker and “Dancing with the Stars” alum Von Miller.
Olympic figure skater Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir previously hosted segments on race-day fashion and horse racing trends. Together, the duo will cover topics such as these.
They’ll be joined by an array of celebrities and athletes at the 145th Kentucky Derby, many wearing custom-crafted hats and fascinators created by Christine Moore – one of Louisville’s premier millinery artists.
She will also be joined by her husband Brian Fichera and sons Calvin (5, Oliver 2, and Rusty (7 months). The family will be staying in Louisville this weekend for the race, with plans to head over to the track on Saturday for some excitement.
It has been a long journey for her and her husband, but now that Calvin is born, the weather correspondent can look forward to becoming parents once again. Back in April, the couple revealed they were struggling with secondary infertility – unable to conceive another child after giving birth to Calvin.
While she was struggling with this difficult situation, her friends and family kept her motivated by praying for her and providing emotional support. Through prayers, they hoped to bring about some light at the end of the tunnel.
In the end, her efforts paid off and now she and her husband are excited to welcome their new baby boy into their family!
She’s been keeping fans updated with her and her family’s news on her Instagram page. She even shared some of the notes she’s left for her mother-in-law.
The mom of three has been sharing lots of pictures featuring her children and Today cohost Hoda Kotb’s daughter Haley on social media. While she’s been working while on maternity leave, she is still taking time for herself as well as spending quality time with her boys and friends.
