Carlie Trent, 9, is Still Missing

Carlie Trent, the 9-year old girl reported kidnapped last week by her uncle in Rogersville, TN is still missing and authorities are combing through all leads to locate her. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Rogersville Police Department have asked anyone with information to call 911 immediately.

On Monday morning, her uncle Gary Simpson was arrested in Hawkins County for aggravated kidnapping and sexual battery. He pleaded guilty in court and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Simpson is accused of kidnapping his niece Carlie Trent, a 9-year-old who went missing from her elementary school in Rogersville on May 4. Claiming that he had picked her up due to her father’s accident, the man then vanished with her.

On May 6, an Amber Alert has been issued in Middle and East Tennessee due to the disappearance of 57-year-old Simpson, who took his daughter–who is a child of divorce–without warning.

The Rogersville Police Department reported they are receiving tips from various states but have been unable to confirm any sightings of the two individuals. They added that the van believed to be driving them is still being searched for, though no sign of its location yet.
