Chris Carmack is an American actor, singer-songwriter and former fashion model best known for his roles on three hit television shows – The O.C (2003-2008), Nashville as Will Lexington (2012-2018) and Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Atticus Lincoln (2018). Additionally he has starred in several films such as The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations; Into the Blue 2: The Reef; Love Wrecked; Beauty & The Briefcase and Alpha and Omega.

He is married to Erin Slaver and they have a daughter together. The couple met while filming ‘Nashville’ and has been an item ever since.

On December 22, 1980, in Washington, D.C., United States of America, he was born to two siblings and raised in Derwood, Maryland. A fan of baseball, basketball and football, he also enjoys singing and playing various instruments. A graduate of Magruder High School, he served as a counselor at Seneca Creek Day Camp for many years before moving away.

He ultimately decided to pursue an acting career and relocated to Los Angeles to hone his craft. In 2005 he modeled for Ezra Fitch – a limited upscale label sold at Abercrombie & Fitch – as well as appearing in various movies and TV series.

His appearance on ‘Nashville’ helped him land the lead role of Luke Ward in teen drama ‘The O.C.’ (2006). Additionally, he has starred in Lovewrecked and played Susan Delfino’s cousin Tim on ‘Desperate Housewives’, earning him a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Before embarking on his acting career, he spent years as a counselor at Seneca Creek day camp where he enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and wrestling. Additionally, he developed an appreciation of music of all genres by learning the guitar and saxophone.

He began acting at a young age and participated in many theater performances and competitions. Additionally, he studied music at Colonel Zadok A. Magruder High School in Rockville, Maryland before attending New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts after graduation.
