Chay From 600 Lb Life
My 600 Lb Life Cast Member Chay Guillory
My 600 Lb Life on TLC’s reality series My 600 lb life has shown how drastically life can change after bariatric surgery for its stars, whether through weight loss or becoming more accepting of themselves and others sexuality-wise. Season 3 cast member Chay Guillory of Louisiana gained strength through being able to shed 219 pounds from her body and experiencing its positive results as Lola on My 600 Lb Life.
Chay has made quite an impression since her appearance on My 600 Lb Life, astounding viewers with her commitment. She’s shed a considerable amount of weight, officiated her friend’s wedding, updated social media with cheerful pictures of makeup makeovers and transgender acceptance messages and posted them all over. Unfortunately, Chay still struggles with habits that thwart her progress: self-pity and anger toward her mother for not being there keeps her from realizing her full potential.
Chay first appeared on My 600 Lb Life at 597 pounds and was determined to follow Dr. Now’s advice and make lifestyle changes. At first, Chay did well and was even praised by Dr. Now for her dedication in weight loss; but shortly thereafter her struggles with food and eating disorders emerged; comforting herself by turning to food after losing her grandmother led her back down this path of destruction that eventually had lasting repercussions on her health.
With help from the program’s therapists, Chay was able to overcome her bad habits and stay on track with her goals again. She continued losing weight and was eventually approved for excess skin removal surgery – one step closer towards having gender reassignment surgery as she has always desired it. Now living in New Iberia Louisiana as Lola she refers to herself.
Chay continues to work through her feelings of resentment for her mother and self-pity by inspiring fans with her commitment to transformation. Her relationship with Patrick remains solid while she strives to become her best self. Chay serves as an inspiring example that it is never too late to follow your dreams!
