Candiace Dillard has never been one to shy away from an argument, yet her Real Housewives of Potomac star may have taken things too far with Dorothy. Dorothy has made it very clear that she does not approve of Candiace Dillard’s relationship with Chris Bassett and often badmouths him in front of Candiace Dillard and even went as far as to hit Candiace Dillard during an altercation between the two – she even used her purse slap against Candiace when things heated up between her mom and Candiace Dillard!

Dorothy has taken aim at several cast members from the show, including Monique Samuels and Ashley Darby, in order to validate her own body image issues. She’s called them out as being fat or ugly while also criticizing Mia Thornton’s mother’s footwear as “low budget,” calling her out on multiple occasions as being “sluts.”

At the reunion, Dorothy was called out for her behavior and attempted to defend herself; but Andy Cohen wasn’t having it and asked her for an explanation of herself. From there on out, it escalated quickly into mother-daughter bickering between both sides regarding one another’s actions.

Although Dorothy does not approve of Chris and Candiace’s marriage, she still exerts financial control over their lives. Dorothy pays the mortgage on Chris and Candiace’s home, which does not please her at all. Additionally, Dorothy argued with Candiace over whether to invite Michael as her half brother due to Walter having fathered Michael during an alleged tryst with another woman and wanted her daughter not to invite Michael for her special day.

Candiace did not appreciate Dorothy’s comments at their reunion and became angry, leading to a heated exchange that left both women crying. Later, Dorothy apologized but it was too late.
