Billie Eilish Please Stop Sending Me This
Billie Eilish and Ye
Billie Eilish, a 23-year-old singer/songwriter from Brooklyn, New York, has won four of the four most prestigious award shows in the music industry. The singer was named the youngest artist to win all four categories at the Grammys. She is also known for her signature oversized style. Her YouTube videos have amassed more than 35 million views, and she has even won a Vogue cover. Several young women are inspired by her and her music.
A few days after the GRAMMYs, Billie Eilish released an Instagram story highlighting her latest accomplishment. In it, she shared pictures of herself with a few strangers, and said she was proud of herself for winning the award for “best new artist.” It was also the first time she walked past the stage of the GRAMMYs, where she performed. While a fan took a photo of the moment, a different fan captured Eilish comforting a distressed fan.
This isn’t the first time she’s taken a proactive approach to securing fans’ safety. Last year, she stopped her concert in Stockholm, Sweden, for a fan to get a drink. The singer also asked security if they were paying attention.
Ye (real name, Kanye West) has a reputation for being a misogynist. He has publicly criticized Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish, but not for the same reasons. However, in this case, he has a good reason for his brash remarks. For one thing, he legally changed his name to Ye.
He has also become a subject of controversy in the wake of the Astroworld music festival in Houston, Texas. Fans of the rapper, who was scheduled to headline the event, were left disappointed when he didn’t stop his set to make things right. At the time, Scott wasn’t fully aware of the magnitude of the situation. But after hours passed, it was a lot more than just a bump in the road. There were at least 25 people injured, and as many as 10 killed. And Scott has yet to apologize. Hundreds of lawsuits have been filed against the organisers.
Not only did Ye boast about the most impressive thing, he went one step further. For example, he posted a video that included a wax work depicting Taylor naked. As well, he included a video that had a quote in it.
While the video and a few others did well, the most impressive thing might have been the most important one. That is, Billie Eilish’s response to Kanye’s snarky comment. Although she did not apologize, she did call out his misogynist motives in a short film. Using a similar strategy, she is planning to use her celebrity to help save the planet.
Billie Eilish’s best and brightest may have won four awards at the upcoming 2020 GRAMMYs, but she’s also taken the initiative to do something about climate change. In her words, climate change is a “real problem”, causing pollution, social inequity and community displacement.
Although Ye may have gotten the short end of the stick, it’s clear that his misogyny runs deep in his psyche. He has a vendetta against successful, white women. And he wants to be able to control them.
