Barbie Butt Surgery
Proctectomy (also known as Barbie Butt surgery), involves the removal of the rectum, anus and colon. This is a major procedure that can be performed under general anesthesia. Because the rectum and anus do not connect, stool no longer passes through the lower part of the colon. Total proctocolectomy, which is more involved, is a more difficult procedure. The colon, anus, rectum and rectum are all removed. Patients are placed under general anesthesia and may have other comorbid conditions or other health conditions.
In October 2016, Ashley Strickland was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and had ileostomy surgery, which diverted her bowel through a stoma. She also had to use a special bag to collect her waste. She was initially reluctant to change her life. However, she couldn’t live without it. In May 2017, she had another procedure to close her anus.
